New courses available!

Sound Theology has added new courses beginning September, 2011! New options include the series, ”My Neighbor’s Faith,” which features courses taught on Islam, Judaism, and Mormonism with guest-professors from Seattle University and Pacific Lutheran University. Note the appearance too of “Radical Lutheran Theology,” a course for congregations struggling with what it means to be Christian in a context either indifferent or even hostile to God or “organized religion.” For these and other coures options, click “available classes” at the top of this page.

Christian Faith and the New Atheism

This series, given at Creator Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake (near Seattle), deals with classic and contemporary forms of atheism, exploring the work in particular of Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens. We examine, in turn, the response to the arguments against the existence of God by famous theologians within the Christian tradition.

This series is provocative and will challenge your faith. Those members who have participated in the entirety of this series, however, have emphasized how much it has strengthened their faith.
